About African Drumming Parties

Formed in 2011, African Drumming Parties specialise in childrens' parties, adults' parties and sessions with businesses and youth groups. Using a variety of different african percussion instruments, ADP can bring any engagement to life.

Our parties are perfect for kids parties of ages 7 and older. Every child will get to play a drum and try out several different world percussion instruments. Whilst 7 is our suggested minimum age, we can accomodate younger participants. At each party you can expect to play lots of games, learn simple rhythms and songs, and most of all, have fun drumming!

African Drumming Parties are based around the Eastleigh area of Hampshire, but are willing to travel around the South of England to spread drumming fun! All African Drumming Parties staff and helpers hold an up to date CRB certificate.

Director: Greg Walker

Greg started drumming aged 12, having previously played Clarinet, Saxophone and Piano. Starting on Drum Kit and progressively moving onto Percussion including Timpani and Mallet Percussion, he studied with some of the best teachers on the South Coast.

Music has always been a big part of Greg's life, studying all the way through school, college and graduating from the University of Southampton with a BA(Hons) in Music, with a first class in Percussion Performance, specialising also in conducting and music technology.

Greg currently works all over Hampshire as a private Percussion tutor, and also teaches other instruments including Percussion, Woodwind and Keyboard for Hampshire Music Service. Greg set up African Drumming Parties in early 2011 to spread his love of drums to an even wider audience.
